Create An Exchange

CS major looking for a project?  Or just computer savvy? Starting an online text exchange for your school would be very well received by your fellow students. You'd be a hero on campus! This code is open source and fully customizable. Check it out.

> textswap.com

Really cool site that manages a bunch of college text exchanges and allows you to use their software to start an exchange easily at your own school. Check it out and let us know what you think.

This is a link to some open source Perl code that interacts with a MySQL database and allows you to create a text exchange on your campus. This software powers the school-sponsored text exchange at the University of Texas -- Dallas:

> studentgov.com

The site is hosted by the school's Student Government Association. If you're interested in using this software, or developing your own to implement a text exchange at your school, email one of your school's Student Government representatives. They'd probably be willing to find you server space and sponsor the undertaking since it benefits students so much. For more school exchanges, click here.
